There is freedom waiting for you, On the breezes of the sky,

And you ask “What if I fall?”

Oh but my darling, what if you fly? -EH

Midwest Heart. Adventurer. English Teacher. Female Traveler.

Escaping the city and entering the world.

Born and raised in Minnesota by two incredible parents alongside 3 fun loving siblings. I spent my college years at the University of Minnesota studying Journalism and Communications. My travel bug first awoke when I backpacked through Europe for a month at the age of 19 with my sister and from then on my life was forever changed. I then studied abroad in London and met some of the greatest people I have ever known. After graduating I entered the corporate world for 4 years and very soon realized that my life in a cubicle didn’t feel quite right. My dreams felt bigger than that.

Then I entered my next chapter of my life: Teaching abroad. I originally went to college to become a teacher but changed majors my junior year (as many of us do). I soon realized that if I were to regret something in life, it would have been not teaching abroad. I decided to take the next step in my journey and intertwine my passions of children, teaching and travel and pack my bags to move to South Korea. I moved to Korea in August 2015 and lived there until August 2017. South Korea holds an incredibly special place in my heart. I have found a love for teaching that I never imagined.

My current chapter of my life: I will graduate this summer with my Masters of Arts degree in Elementary Education: K-6. I incorporate my experience from teaching in South Korea to my everyday practices in teaching in the US Public School System. I have a passion for education and children and showing them the beautiful world around them. My adventures never stop and I am always allowing myself to grow as a person through new experiences.

My hope is that I can share with you all my adventures while hoping to inspire others to make the change and find the passion in themselves to do something that they love.

I love hearing from all of you over the years and I appreciate all of your messages. Please feel free to reach out anytime! I am happy to help in anyway I can!

Love from Minnesota,

Caroline

  2. This is so weird, I’m currently studying journalism and communications, I got my travel bug after backpacking through Europe at 19 and I’m planning to teach in Korea after uni (not from Minnesota though)! Your posts about Korea are great, I’m scouring blogs at the moment to prepare myself for when I hopefully get accepted into EPIK 🙂
